Nominations are now open for the Local Government Association Liberal Democrat Group elections.
All Liberal Democrat councillors who were in office on April 30 this year are eligible to stand and vote; all Liberal Democrat councillors who were elected on May 3 this year will be eligible to vote (Group rules mean that you need to be in office for at least a year before you put your name forward to stand). Those eligible councillors should have had an email through this week from the contractors.
The closing date for nominations is 17:00 on Tuesday 14 May and the rest of the timetable is as follows:
- Ballot opens – Wednesday 5 June, 9am with this day to be the target date for ballot mailings to arrive with people
- Ballot closes – Wednesday 19 June, 5pm
- Results announced by Friday 21 June
