G8 Direct Mail for 2026 Local Elections

Applications for G8 are now closed. The information below is for successful applications BUT anyone can take advantage of the G8 deal and deadlines even if you did not receive an award. The only difference is you won’t receive a G8 Award Code. Prices and deadlines are in the production document below.

Congratulations if you have successfully received a G8 Grant for your local election in May 2026. 

G8 is a funding scheme to help elect more Liberal Democrats in local government. It is funded by the Federal, English, Scottish and Welsh parties, managed by the G8 Committee and administered by ALDC. 

The 2026 G8 programme will comprise two rounds of direct mail in January 2026 and February 2026. This is to a priority group of voters in each ward, for example ‘squeeze’ voters.  

The first artwork deadline is Monday 19 January at 10am 

The second artwork deadline is Monday 9 February at 10am

You can also buy in to additional items of direct mail, for example more letters in the same ward, or letters for additional wards. This can be either for hand delivery or through the post, using the same cheaper bulk postage rate that G8 benefits from.   

ALDC will provide templates and can also provide artwork support and help exporting address data from Connect.
