27 New Lib Dem Cllrs since the general election - and counting! 27 New Lib Dem Cllrs since the general election - and counting!

What a result in Torbay, where former MP Adrian Sanders has been elected to the council with just short of 70% of the vote. Adrian held with Clifton with Maidenway ward for the party with a 40% increase in vote-share since last time.

This is the 14th council seat to have been defended successfully by the Liberal Democrats since the general election and, when added to the 13 seats gained from other parties over the same period, makes Adrian the 26th Liberal Democrat councillor elected since May 8th.

Well done to Adrian and the entire Torbay team.

Yesterday’s other by-election in Aberdeenshire begins counting at 10am, more news as we get it!

Update: Sadly, a loss in Aberdeenshire, where the Tories took the seat we were defending. Commiserations to Daniel and the team who fought a great campaign.
