Our Advice Service is for ALDC members to contact us to get their campaigning or councillor related questions answered. A different member of staff manages the service each day – all of whom are experienced campaigners and/or councillors. You have two ways to contact us:
- Call our telephone advice service 9.30am – 5pm weekdays on 0161 212 1012.
- Our online advice service can be accessed at any time (you need to be logged-in) and we’ll respond within 24 hours during the week.
ALDC members can also use our member-only private Facebook Group to ask fellow members for advice and guidance at any time of day or night.
Please note: We offer political, tactical and strategic advice to our members. Whilst we have a working knowledge of election law and can offer basic advice on different aspects of it, please bear in mind that we’re not legally trained. Members seeking formal advice on legal issues should consult a solicitor. If you are querying legal advice or opinion that you have received from elsewhere, such as a council monitoring officer or solicitor, then it is helpful if you can ask them to clarify which piece of legislation they are using to advise you. This will make it easier for us or a solicitor to check their guidance.
