The SNP/Green Government are proposing large scale increases in Council Tax of up to 22.5% for Band E and above households in Scotland.
The Scottish Liberal Democrats are opposing this, as not only is it going to hit squeezed households during the Cost of Living crisis, but also lets the SNP off the hook on their previous-made promises for Council Tax reform. We are instead calling for proper proposals to reform local taxation rather than entrenching the current system.
