This section of ALDC’s 2012 Local Elections Results Service tracks the outcome of each contested seat on the night. In England, most of these amount to one-third of the total number of council seats, although a number of District Councils elect by halves.  In Scotland and Wales, the elections were ‘all outs’.

Councils with their names highlighted in red are having ‘all-out’ elections after boundary changes and will resume their normal electoral cycles from 2014.
