Scotland

ASLDC (The Association of Scottish Liberal Democrat Councillors) is a network of Liberal Democrat councillors and local campaigners across Scotland. It works to support and develop Liberal Democrat involvement in Scottish Local Government. Scottish Liberal Democrats have long campaigned for fair votes for local elections and were responsible for the introduction of the Single Transferable Vote for local elections in Scotland for the 2007 elections. A voluntary Executive Committee meets several times a year to run the organisation, organising training events, meetings at Conferences and supporting councillors and campaigners across Scotland.

Convenor: Cllr Willie Wilson
Vice-Convenor: Cllr Susan Leslie

Secretary: Caron Lindsay
Treasurer: Simon Hutton
Members: Cllr Peter Barrett, Cllr Robert Brown, Cllr Ian Yuill, Cllr Catriona Bhatia, Derek Barrie

ASLDC works alongside Liberal Democrats in the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (CoSLA). Cllr Martin Kitts-Hayes from Aberdeenshire is the current Liberal Democrat Group Leader on CoSLA.
