The Planning Advisory Service (PAS) helps local planning authorities to improve. Part of the support they can provide includes committee/councillor training, either as a one off annual update and refresher, or a more focussed session, for example on decision making, viability or design.
PAS can also provide an ongoing training package over the year. Having an external, independent and trusted provider often works better than doing the training in house. Get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this and get a quote.
PAS are also running four of the Leadership Essentials sessions on planning. The first one, on 8-9th September, is specifically for new planning portfolio holders and committee chairs. A further session on implementing the latest planning reforms will follow later in the year. Other topics are to be determined.
If you are interested in the first session please contact Grace.Collins@local.govuk.
PAS are offering a subscription package which offers better value for money than paying for support as you go. To find out more PAS support and the subscription offer, download the flyer here, or get in touch with email@example.com
In addition to this, all Lib Dem councillors on LGA member authorities can continue to access the advice and information on the PAS website at http://www.pas.gov.uk/councillors
