On Thursday 13th August the political headlines were about Nigel Farage’s fight against a man with a bin on his head. However, there were also two council by elections and we won both.
The great news is that these results mean we top the leader board for principal council by elections since the 2nd May.
We have also had some near misses, such as Kinwarton Ward in Stratford upon Avon and Snetttisham in King’s Lynn & West Norfolk.
The first half of the year was somewhat weaker but across the year to date we remain in second place.
It is clear that the Conservatives are doing better than last year, although the ‘Burnham bounce’ has not yet manifested itself in by election results.
These results reflect the hard work done by our local teams across the country, with wining coming from our traditional bottom up approach.
