Noisy Fireworks Consultation

The Government has launched a consultation on restricting the sale of noisy fireworks to the general public.

Complaints about noisy fireworks are common amongst many communities – especially in the lead up to Bonfire Night. The consultation tests the proposal that fireworks of a certain decibel level should only be available for use at organised, public displays which tend to take place at more predictable and sociable hours.

The consultation is open to all residents in England, Scotland and Wales. Though anyone can respond there are certain groups the Government is giving a certain priority to representations from particular groups including veterans groups, animal welfare charities, mental health support services and under-represented groups.
