Volunteers Week (1-7 June): Time to say ‘Thank You’

This week in Volunteers Week – a UK wide celebration of volunteers and their contribution that has been an annual event since 1984.

The Liberal Democrats are built on our volunteers. We simply would not be here without you.

Now is the time to give thanks to the volunteers who help us in our local parties – our deliverers, donors, clerical helpers, canvassers, printers, local party officers, event organisers and everyone else who keeps our party running.

Let’s not forget too our community volunteers who look after the wards and divisions we represent. The resident’s associations, neighbourhood watch groups, kids sports teams, litter-pickers and community gardeners (to name but a few).

We have some great articles on looking after your volunteers and working with community groups to give you inspiration this week:

We would also like to thank all our volunteers at ALDC who help us provide services to our members. So much of what ALDC does is delivered by volunteers including:

  • Donating to our Fighting Fund and Local Election Appeal
  • Delivering webinar training sessions
  • Delivering in-person training sessions at Kickstart and Conference
  • Delivering development days to Lib Dem council groups
  • Reporting by-election results on our social media feeds
  • Writing best practice articles on our blog and in our Local Campaigner magazine

… and so many more. Just by being a member of ALDC you are helping us provide advice and resources to Liberal Democrats the length and breadth of Britain.

Thank you so much to everyone who volunteers for ALDC. You help us deliver the best services we can to Liberal Democrats in local government.
