Parish, Town, and Community Councils – Get in Touch

Did you know there are over 12,000 parish, town, and community councils across England and Wales?

Whether is be looking after community buildings, street lighting or allotments, the important work our parish, town, and community councillors do often goes under the radar.

At ALDC, we are working hard to increase the support we can give to our parish, town, and community councillors up and down the country.

However, given the sheer number of these councils, we need your help!

Get in contact with us! If you can tell us about multiple town and parish councillors in your area, please use the spreadsheet format here and email it over to us at

Let us know:

(1) Your name
(2) Your parish, town, or community council
(3) Your ward (if there is one)
(4) Whether you were elected as a Liberal Democrat
(5) The year you are up for election

We’re interested in both people elected as Liberal Democrats and also the many Liberal Democrat members who serve on parish, town, or community councils who are not elected under a political banner.

We look forward to hearing from you – please do get in touch to let us know about parish, town, and community councillors!

Neil Oakman says

Neil Oakman, Gosberton Parish Council, elected with no political allegiance (as were the rest of the PC), next election 2023

Cllr Kate Smith says

Amber Valley LP 011

Paul Slater, Somercotes Parish Council
Vikki Bonsall, Somercotes Parish C (now Ind but supporting LD)
Joanna Karpasea-Jones, Aldercar and Langley Mill PC (now Ind but ditto)
Kate Smith, Crich Parish Council
Roger Harrison, Kevin Burke, Alice Vincent, Jan Thompson, Jim Grieveson and John Shoesmith, Duffield PC which we control (RH is chair)
All these have next routine elections 2023; Crich has 2 vacancies and may either elect or co-opt in the next 4 months (need to bed in new Clerk first)
NB Pronunciation of "Crich" as in "cry" !
Very best to all KS
