Planning consultation – have your say!

The Dept for Communities and Local Government are running a technical consultation on changes to the planning system. The link can be found here and includes the following proposals:

· Conversion of offices to homes without planning permission – we believe this should be up to local planning authorities to decide and encourage people to oppose the proposed changes;

· It also includes a proposal which would allow councils greater flexibility over where payday loan as well as betting shops are located through a separate use class and could then allow greater control over preventing “clustering” of these premises.

The consultation ends on 26th September.

In some instances building regs. are sufficient but each application should be assessed individually.
Betting and loan shops should be strictly controlled as to where they can be situated.
