The Fenland Indy candidate stood for Labour in 2011 town cocunil elections. So he may have taken away votes from Lab this weekThe Leasowe and Moreton Eas result is indeed poor. There is a tradition in Wirral for Labour to underperform in low turnout local elections. However, they did well in the PCC election borough wide in November even with a terrible turnout. The Tory candidate is considered to be good (he's the previous Cllr beated in May 2012) but it's 2013 and not 2008. So I think Labour should have done better anyway.
