ALDC has recently completed a recruitment process for new staff members to join the team at ALDC. The new staff will be starting during March 2012. They are:

Development Officers
Neil Fawcett and Mike Bell

Neil Fawcett has a long history of working as a campaigner within the party, most recently as Deputy Director of Campaigns during the last Parliament. Neil is based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Mike Bell is our Group Leader on North Somerset Council, and based in Weston-super-Mare. He joins us from the office of David Heath MP and has previously worked as a regional campaigns officer in the South West.

Neil and Mike join existing staff member Mark Alcock to make up our new team of Development Officers. Between them they will be working to develop local campaigning across the country at a regional and local level.

Communications Officer
Craig Whittall

Craig Whittall joins us from the office of Gordon Birtwistle MP, and has previously worked for ALDC as a Temporary Political Officer during 2010.

Our new post of Communications Officer will be part of the team in Hebden Bridge, and will be responsible for improving how we communicate with members and other partners, as well as taking a lead on supporting the MyCouncillor websites.

We will be publishing an updated full list of staff, and updated roles and responsibilities shortly.

A quarterly update about the work of ALDC has been made available to members here (you need to log in first). A PDF version of the report is available here

Re speed reduction
Having moved back to Abingdon two years ago after 30 years I am concerned about the dangers to pedestrians and cyclists at junction by the church with west st Helen’s and east st Helen’s and wondering if this issue is going to be addressed
