Why Leave a Legacy?
ALDC have always been, and will always be, the only campaigning organisation devoted entirely to the practice of community politics and to Liberal Democrat success in local government.
For more than half a century we have championed local, grassroots campaigning, working with generations of Liberal and Liberal Democrat activists, campaigners, councillors and parliamentarians.
It is the generous support of our members that mean we can do this work. Your Legacy donation will help us do even more to increase the number of Liberal Democrats elected in local government.
From fighting by elections to supporting candidates from communities underrepresented in local government, your donation will ensure Liberal Democrats continue to be a strong voice in our communities.
How to Include ALDC
Your family and friends come first. Once you’ve provided for them, you may wish to leave a gift to ALDC as part of your Will. Any gift you leave to ALDC will have a lasting impact on our work, and you can choose how to leave a gift:
Donate a fixed sum: you can specify an amount from your will to be left to ALDC once your other expenses are considered. This is a simple way of having a lasting impact.
Leave a share of your estate: You can leave a percentage of what remains of your estate after other gifts and expenses have been settled. Even a small percentage can make a big difference to our work.
You can specify the impact of your Legacy by requesting how it is used. If you’d like more information, or want to have a conversation with our team on how to manage your donation, please reach out to our team at info@aldc.org
Anthony's Story
Anthony Hill dedicated much of his life to serving the public as a Liberal Democrat Councillor, famously standing aside for Shirley Williams in the 1981 Crosby by-election. Elected in 1987, Anthony served as a councillor until 2012 – receiving the National Mayor of the Year award in 2001, and serving as the Cabinet Member for Environmental Services.
His dedication to Crosby and his residents has inspired councillors around the country. He was well-loved in the party and had a strong reputation as a grassroots campaigner.
Anthony’s Legacy gift to ALDC ensures that his dedication lives on. Through his generous support, we can continue providing training, resources, and guidance to councillors up and down the country, helping them deliver the same kind of positive change Anthony fought for throughout his career. His gift is more than a donation, it’s a lasting investment in local democracy.
