News from the Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission has made two changes for forthcoming local elections. 

First, they have added a voluntary contact details form. The idea is that election offices collect these details and provide them to the local police force’s Force Elected Official Advisor (FEOA), as part of Operation Ford (see this article). While the impact and usefulness of FEOAs have proven variable, we believe that this is a sensible step.  

Secondly, the new election expense forms trialled in 2025 have been made standard. These are simpler and clearer than the old forms and, for those who have already used them, are a real improvement.  

As before they are available as pdfs for downloading and printing, or as Excel files for electronic completion.
