Councillors Weekend | 26 – 28 June 2026

Councillors Weekend is a focused training and development weekend for Liberal Democrat councillors. Whether you are newly elected or looking to develop and refresh skills, the Councillors’ Weekend is for you.

Designed to reflect the realities of local government, the weekend offers space to step back from day-to-day pressures and focus on being effective, confident and resilient in political roles.

Across the weekend, participants will:

• Develop practical skills for effective representation and leadership
• Explore best practice in council work, decision-making, and accountability
• Share experiences and challenges with others working in similar political environments

The weekend provides a supportive, practical environment focused on strengthening Liberal Democrat representation at local level, now and into the future.

 ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:

• Please arrive from 4pm on Friday 26 June 2026
• Departure is after lunch on Sunday 28 June 2026

COSTS:

Single room

Cancellation Policy

This event has limited capacity, so we ask that cancellations are made at least two weeks before the event wherever possible.

• Cancellations made two weeks or more before the event will receive a full refund minus a £20 cancellation fee
• You may choose to roll over your booking to the next Kickstart event (rollover is available once and must be to the closest next event, for example June Kickstart to November Kickstart)

If you need to cancel at short notice, we will do our best to resell your place:

• If we are able to resell your ticket, you will receive a refund or rollover as above minus the cancellation fee.
• If we are unable to resell the ticket, we will not be able to refund any part of the cost

An administration fee of £10 applies to ALL last-minute detail changes.
