It’s fair to say, the colder and darker months have truly hit us no matter where you are campaigning – if like me you’re in the north of Scotland, it’s only even darker and colder!
Before we tuck into our Christmas Dinners or reach a vital family policy agreement over who gets that last pig in a blanket, it’s important that we take stock ahead of the final run into vital elections in May next year.
2026 promises to be a big campaigning year for us as a party, and with that comes all the usual challenges – but it’s important to remember that you are not alone, no matter what difficulties you face.
ALDC is here as ever to offer vital support for your campaigns. Please also remember to look after your mental health during the challenges of a campaign.
With that in mind, this is a friendly reminder that the Lib Dems offer all party members 2 free support services with your party membership – Health Assured 24/7 Helpline, and Able Futures Resilience Coaching.
Health Assured is an independent health and wellbeing provider that can offer wellbeing resources as well as a 24/7 365 helpline. They are a great partner for our members, and they provide a confidential service for any personal or professional problems that affect their overall health and wellbeing.
All Liberal Democrat members have unlimited access to the Health Assured Support Helpline at 0800 028 0199 and a range of other resources such as a website and an app.
Able Futures delivers Mental Health Support Service which can give members a mental health professional to talk about whatever is playing on their mind.
Support from Able Futures is available over the phone and through email or video calls at a time to suit. Any member who feels they could benefit from some support with their mental health and wellbeing should call Able Futures on 0800 321 3137 or sign-up online.
More information about both services is available here.
Wishing you and all your families all the very best this festive season.
