G8 Applications for 2026 are Open

Applications for a G8 Grant towards your 2026 Local Election campaign is now open.

G8 is a funding scheme to help elect more Liberal Democrats in local government. It is funded by the Federal, English, Scottish and Welsh parties, managed by the G8 Committee and administered by ALDC.

The 2026 G8 programme will be made up of two rounds of direct mail which will be posted to voters in early 2026 prior to the election expense period. This is to a priority group of voters in each ward, for example ‘squeeze’ voters. G8 is NOT a cash grant. G8 also focuses on supporting potential Lib Dem gains.

The deadline for applications is 6pm on Friday 7 November 2025.

As part of your application, you need to commit meeting the two artwork deadlines of 10am on Monday 19 January 2026 and Monday 9 February 2026. Templates will be available on ALDC Artworker and Affinity if your application is successful.

The maximum number of wards each council area can apply to receive G8 funding is 5.

Remember the deadline for applications is 6pm on Friday 7 November 2025.
