Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference takes place this weekend. Thousands of Lib Dem members will be joining us in Bournemouth for a weekend of debates, training, fringe events and of course the famous Lib Dem Disco.
For those who are attending conference, here are some of ALDC’s top picks for the weekend.
Lib Dem Disco
Lib Dem Disco returns on Saturday 20 September at 22:00 in the Dorchester North suite at the Marriott Hotel. Hosted by Cambridge Lib Dems and ALDC, and sponsored by Tik Tok, this is the place to be at conference. Expect guest DJ sets from MPs.
Tickets are £20 and can be bought here – two free drinks are included in the ticket price.
ALDC AGM and Local Campaigner Awards
Also on Saturday 20 September you can join us at ALDC’s AGM, which is followed by this year’s Local Campaigner Awards – celebrating the best campaign and councillor achievements of the past year. All ALDC members are welcome.
Join us at the Dorchester North suite in the Marriott from 19:45 to 21:00. Refreshments will be provided.
ALDC and LGA Lib Dem Fringe Events
ALDC and LGA Lib Dems are hosting fascinating fringe meetings throughout the weekend. Some highlights include fringes with Transparency International on corruption in local elections, Unison on Local Government funding and the Migrant Democracy Project on migrant voting rights.
Be a Councillor
There are resources and events available throughout conference for those who want to be a councillor. Don’t miss our training session ‘You can be a Councillor’ on Saturday 20 September, 16:15 – 17:15.

Training
We have training sessions throughout the weekend on campaigning and being a councillor. There will also be a stream of Lib Dems in Action sessions – looking at best practice from Lib Dems on issues such as housing, the environment and winning elections. Find out whole training programme here.
