Tens of thousands of people diagnosed as ‘severely mentally impaired’ could be missing out on a council tax discount, an investigation by Money Saving Expert warns. It found variations in the numbers of people claiming the council tax discount across Great Britain and said councils are being slow to offer any information on the scheme.
