The final figures are being double checked, but the LGA Liberal Democrat Group has moved back up to being the third largest group at the LGA, following the local election results. Once again, no political group has a majority of the votes at the LGA and the organisation remains very much a cross party body.
Initial figures for political balance are as follows:
- Conservative Group – 43.88%
- Labour Group – 38.07%
- Liberal Democrat Group – 9.40%
- Independent Group – 8.65%
