This weekend has seen the launch of a new pre-election campaign to raise the income tax threshold to £10,500 before 2015.

This raise in the personal allowance would result in a further £100 tax cut to workers earning more than £10,500 per year, and a cumulative tax cut of £800 since 2010 for some of the lowest paid workers in the country. It will also add to the more than three million low-paid workers that have been lifted entirely out of paying income tax.

The campaign’s website, ahundredpounds.org, is generating petition signatures towards this end and is a useful site to direct traffic towards.
