Lib Dem Education Association + LGA: Education Policy Conference, 23 Feb, Oxford

The Lib Dem Education Association and Local Government Association Lib Dem Group are holding a joint education policy event to set out our local and national priorities.

The morning session will consist of talks and discussion groups under the heading: ‘teaching as a valued and respected profession’. This will look at issues including initial training, continuous professional development, workload, school improvement and inspections.

The afternoon session will focus on: ‘apprenticeships and the future of further education.’ Topics to be discussed include the operation of the apprenticeship levy, general funding, the status of teachers and the ‘T Levels’ qualifications.

Speakers include:

  • Dame Alison Peacock (CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching)
  • Layla Moran MP (Liberal Democrat Education Spokesperson)
  • David Corke (Director of Policy and Research at the Association of Colleges)

It costs £15 to attend and includes lunch.
