We will be hosting a PagePlus masterclass training course, in Brighton the day before conference.
The course is designed as a starting out with PagePlus session for those new to using the programme. You will need to bring a laptop and have pre-downloaded PagePlus from the Serif website.
The course will cover:
- An introduction to PagePlus
- Basic techniques
- How to download and use ALDC templates
- You’ll create a leaflet using materials we provide
The training will be held at the Business Centre at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, 11am – 5pm on Friday 14 September.
This is FREE to ALDC members, but booking is limited to 12 participants who must register, bring their own laptop and have downloaded PagePlus X7-9.
Are there any Mac alternatives to PagePlus?
I will struggle to get there for Friday. Is it possible to organize a training day like this in Surrey sometime on a weekend day & see if we can pull in lots of local people to train up?
Pageplus is the only party recommended DTP programme and the only one for which templates are produced. The advice for Mac users is to run it using Parallels or similar (Claire can advise on this).
At some point the party will need to review this as Pageplus is no longer being being updated but no-one has given a timetable for doing so.
Louise, Pageplus courses are very costly to put on in terms of the people and facilities required. We do them on as often as we can but, because they need more than a day to do effectively, this is normally in conjunction with an event like Kickstart or Federal Conference, when it can be paired with literature training.
We do run webinars, both during the day and in the evening, to allow those who can't attend a course to build up skills in Pageplus.
