Our plans for Spring Conference, Southport (9-11 March)

The ALDC team will be in Southport throughout Spring Conference (Friday 9 – Sunday 11 March) … here’s a brief summary of what we’ll be up to.

We’re running eight training sessions, covering all aspects of campaigning and catering for every level of experience.

EXHIBITION STAND

Come and find the ALDC staff team in the hall on stand 11 and 12 where we’ll be exhibiting with our good friends at the LGA Liberal Democrat Group. Our joint stand will be dedicated to Liberal Democrats in local government.

You’ll be able to pick up information on our current and future events; buy our two latest books; get some advice from one of our political officers; and, if you’re not yet a member of ALDC, find out why you should join us.

CONFERENCE HALL

We have a motion for debate on Local Government and Housing. The motion seeks to:

  • Borrow to build new affordable and socially rented houses
  • Give local councils the power to scrap Right to Buy
  • Strengthen powers to fill empty homes

If you can spare some time to attend the debate and show your support, we would be very grateful. It takes place on Saturday at 9.30am.

AFTER CONFERENCE

On the Sunday at conference, we plan to email ALDC members our free Spring Conference Campaign Pack that we’re producing. It’ll be packed with drop-in artwork, MyCouncillor stories, Facebook graphics as well as an email for you to send to members.
