The LGA Lib Dem Group is working with ALDC on the amendment to the conference motion on Brexit and Public Services, which has been accepted for debate by Conference Committee. This highlights that Brexit could mean the loss of £8.4 billion of structural investment funds across the country, and that local government’s voice could be muzzled under Brexit.
At present there is no requirement on the UK government to give local government a formal advisory role post Brexit. The debate will start at 2.10pm on Saturday 16 September, please come along and support the amendment.
