Whether as a local party, or as an individual please let us know who is standing for us in the 2014 elections. We do this so that we can support those candidates with target materials training and advice so that we all get the best result possible in 2014.
With an even greater emphasis on success following early work, hopefully many candidates will have already been selected. We need to know who they are together with their contact details for any currently held or targeted wards. Don’t wait till you have a full slate let us know as the selections progress. If sitting councillors are simply restanding this is also useful.
How would you know if somebody else has submitted this information? Well on Friday September 13th Tim Farron as Chair of the 2014 Elections Campaign sent an email to those we have been told are standing. If you did not receive one, we have not been told that you are re-standing or that you are a new candidate. Use this link to let us know.
Let us know how you’re doing and what’s working or not working for you. ALDC have set up a Local Elections ‘Candidates and Team” group on Facebook. Help us make this a great place to keep in touch with each other and swap ideas. Ask to join the group!
Having stood there as a paper candidate over the last two years, I expect to be the candidate in the Braybrooke ward of Hastings. We have reduced our expectations to one target ward, which will be the adjacent Castle ward. Nick Perry will almost certainly be the candidate for Castle, but I don't think he's been formally adopted as yet. Will try to squeeze third party - we came 4th or 5th in the county elections (though targetting a seat outside of Hastings).
