Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June 2009 saw the 2009 Local Government Conference in Sheffield. The event was attended by over 220 councillors and local activists – many thanks to many contributors, sponsors and partner agencies who made the event such a success. 

* Speakers: Nick Clegg, Ros Scott, Hilary Stephenson, Andrew Stunell, Julia Goldsworthy and Cllr Paul Scriven. 
* Training: campaigners, getting set for 2010, councillor skills, EARS, and keeping your council seat. 
* Fringe: Sheffield Success, Green Councils, economic downturn, localism and the Be a Councillor programme. 
* Exhibition: party bodies, commercial sponsors and local government agencies.
